Hi friends. I was invited to speak at a conference hosted on Twitter by @ten_africa a Bolu Onasanya Initiative and I was to speak (tweet) on the topic Enterprise Development; Carving a Niche. It was an opportunity I gladly accepted because I felt it would be good for someone out there to learn a thing or two. Something that could help transform his/her thinking.
The tweets were quite many therefore I have decided to create 2 (two) posts out of it. The tweets were also numbered for ease of follow. You can follow me @iamjlordz and my company @thechocboy. I will follow back
The conference has since held on the 21st of August 2014 which happens to be World Entrepreneur's Day.
I have collated my tweets in my first post to this blog and will be sharing it here so that someone else might gain from it.
Let us jump right into it.
1. Good day guys, I am Oluwajare Fola-Bolumole CEO of The ChocBoy Brand. www.chocboy.com and I will be speaking on "Enterprise Development; Carving a Niche" #TenConference
2. I will be using the movie. The Expendables as a case study for comparison purpose. #TenConference
3. So think along the line of the movie while we unravel "Enterprise Development; Carving a Niche" #TenConference
4. I will explain my points with my business as "testimony" to the fact that it works. #TenConference
5. Carving a niche simply means to create a space for yourself; creating demand for yourself #TenConference
6. I think the first step in carving a niche is, UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOUR BUSINESS is about. #TenConference
7. You can call it knowing the purpose of your business. #TenConference
8. Note here- as an entrepreneur, you fully don't have all the knowledge about your field, #TenConference
10. Your strength might just be identifying problems and creating a medium through which you can make money while solving it. #TenConference
11. Yes, The ChocBoy Brand produces chocolate and its varieties but our sole purpose and aim is "selling fun" we want to be known as a hub of fun #TenConference
12. Chocolate is the most facinating tool through which we are selling fun #TenConference
13. That’s why we build everything up to our most climaxing event at the end of the year. #TenConference
14. Identify the most "intangible" part of your business, honestly, the most "intangible" produces the most tangible. SELL INTANGIBILITY #TenConference
15. SELL INTANGIBILITY #TenConference
16. Next step is identifying the least cost effective but highly efficient tool for selling it. #TenConference
17.This is why Social Media is one of the best tools. This already has been properly discussed by @JohnObidi #TenConference
18. Have these questions in mind when carving a niche. #TenConference
19. Who are my friends? Among them who is/are the most influential? Where am I right now? How can I use this place to my advantage? #TenConference
20. How can I get the people here to appreciate what I do? Do I do Give Away's? #TenConference
21. In every business, there are the early adopters and the late adopters, #TenConference
22. Worry not because if your brand keeps to its promise the late adopters even have the tendency to bring bigger gains, #TenConference
23. GET THE EARLY ADOPTERS ON YOUR SIDE; we call them the hype-men. They will sell your brand while you sleep. #TenConference
24. As much as it is possible let the brand keep its promise. A pissed customer is as bad as a sunken cargo ship. #TenConference
25. When you have done all this make sure your customer service is excellent. #TenConference
26. I am building up to one of the most important part of business here which is called referral. #TenConference
27. I personally think a well satisfied customer that paid on N500 can make a reference of N5million #TenConference
28. Never be shy to ask for a referral it’s as simple as asking for a follow back it doesn’t hurt. #TenConference
29. As a business person be ready to grow from your inner circle. #TenConference
30. I think this is just a simple life principle. Truth is the inner circle might change but that’s where growth starts. #TenConference
